Sales and Technical Support Engineer

WISER Systems is seeking a talented and highly motivated Sales Engineer who enjoys the fast pace of a rapidly growing SaaS company.  Qualified individuals would be responsible for understanding all the technical aspects of the WISER Locator system and explaining it to potential consumers. Duties include consulting on product development, explaining product features to customers during live in-person or virtual demonstrations. In addition, assisting customers with technical issues or questions relating to WISER Locator hardware or software. The successful candidate will engage customers in-person, by telephone, email, and communicating with them through messaging platforms. Duties will include helping customers diagnose technical issues over the phone and guiding them through hardware and software installation and troubleshooting user issues.

 Responsibilities include:

  •  Learning the WISER system, software and hardware, and diagnosing / responding to customer issues dynamically (without scripted answers).

  • Prepare and give technical presentations to explain to customers how WISER products and services work

  • Work with the customers to ensure the system meets contract requirements

  • Secure orders, guarantee product standards and assure product delivery

  • Establish customer rapport and acceptance

  • Help clients to solve problems with product usage

  • Hold virtual or in-person meetings with clients to analyze, troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software problems

  • Conduct on-site training; position will require some travel

  • Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to system troubleshooting and usage

  • Act as the initial point of contact for all system related concerns from clients

  • Perform virtual demonstrations of the WISER Locator system to new prospects and marketing leads

 Required Experience:

  • Engineering degree and 1 – 5 years’ experience in technical support/technical sales

  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a heavy customer-focus position applying technical knowledge of wireless systems, computer networks and/or experience with electronic, mechanical and software products

 Required Skills:

  • Comfortable with and enjoy assisting others working through hardware and software challenges

  • Troubleshooting skills

  • Extensive experience working with different operating systems including Windows and Mac OS

  • Ability to work independently

  • Time-management skills and the ability to establish reasonable and attainable deadlines for resolution

  • Good organizational skills; ability to work quickly and efficiently under deadline

  • Ability to prioritize and manage several milestones and projects simultaneously

  • Professional written and interpersonal communications skills

  • Experience installing and configuring computer systems and applications

  • Accept constructive criticism and customer feedback regarding their experience with
    software or IT services and work for continuous improvement

  • Presentation, and persuasive leadership skills and ability to convey product value

 Other Skills:

  • Ability to work on tasks and projects individually or as part of a team

  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with customers, engineering team members, and sales team members

  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, SQL and handling technical issues of mobile apps

  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated

  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small-team, entrepreneurial environment

  • Flexible and able to take on different tasks as required
