Real-Time Biomedical WIP Tracking System
WISER Systems delivers a biomedical manufacturing locating system that tracks critical assets with sub-meter precision in cleanrooms and regulated production spaces. Our ultra-wideband RTLS updates asset positions in real time without manual scanning or line-of-sight requirements. WISER replaces delays and data gaps with clear, continuous location intelligence that supports FDA and ISO compliance standards.
Unlock End-to-End Traceability in Biomedical Manufacturing Facilities
Biomedical WIP tracking systems must account for non-linear workflows, rework loops, and high-precision zones inside sterile manufacturing suites. WISER’s real-time location system captures every asset movement with time-stamped accuracy, allowing manufacturers to enforce FIFO usage, verify process adherence, and flag deviations before they escalate.
The system adapts to custom processes, tracking kits, tools, and reagent batches across cleanrooms, storage, and testing areas without requiring fixed checkpoints.
By storing every movement in an accessible audit trail, WISER ensures that traceability isn’t just a task, but a constant.
Why Traditional Tracking Methods Fail in Cleanroom Environments
Barcode systems and RFID portals struggle with stainless steel surfaces, identical containers, and sterilization protocols common in biomedical manufacturing. These tools miss critical data points, especially during WIP transitions between isolated rooms or controlled zones.
Gaps in traceability increase compliance risk and force manual intervention that slows production.
How WISER’s RTLS Delivers Sub-Meter Accuracy Without Line of Sight
WISER’s biomedical manufacturing locating system uses ultra-wideband signals to track tagged assets through walls, equipment, and complex facility layouts. WISER’s RTLS solution updates asset positions automatically, eliminating manual scans and misreads.
It supports cleanroom WIP tracking solutions that require constant, uninterrupted data flow across high-volume, high-regulation workflows.
The Biomedical Manufacturing Locating System for FDA-Ready Operations
WISER’s biomedical manufacturing locating system integrates directly with ERP and MES platforms, feeding live asset data into existing quality and production records.
The system supports FDA-aligned validation protocols, including 21 CFR Part 11, and produces audit-ready reports without relying on manual logs. Its cleanroom WIP tracking solution uses encrypted, on-premise infrastructure to meet strict data security standards.
Facilities gain control over sterilized equipment tracking and can enforce time-sensitive workflows with alert-based zone monitoring.
Sterilized Equipment Tracking Without Compromise
WISER tags are engineered for cleanroom durability, with sealed, chemical-resistant housings that withstand routine washdowns and sanitation processes without performance loss or revalidation delays.
We log every asset movement with precision, ensuring sterile tools, fixtures, and containers remain traceable throughout production.
The system recognizes when equipment enters restricted zones or stays idle too long, triggering alerts before protocols are breached.

FAQs About Our Biomedical Manufacturing RTLS Solution
Learn more about how WISER’s asset locating systems are used in biomedical manufacturing through our frequently asked questions below.
Does WISER’s tracking system have FDA certification or validation?
No, WISER’s RTLS hardware/software is not FDA-certified – and importantly, it doesn’t need to be, since it’s not used as a medical device for treatment/diagnosis. Instead, WISER is a compliance enabler. Our solution is used in FDA-regulated environments in support of quality systems. Customers typically validate the system internally (for example, through IQ/OQ/PQ protocols) to ensure it meets their data integrity and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
Can the tags and equipment be used in a cleanroom or sterile environment?
Yes. WISER’s tags are built to operate in cleanroom conditions. They are IP67 sealed, meaning dust-tight and water-resistant, so they can withstand wash-downs and sterilization routines. The tags have smooth, non-porous casings that won’t shed particles – an important factor for cleanroom compliance. In use, customers have attached tags to carts and vessels that get cleaned with harsh solutions daily, with no degradation in tag performance. The anchors (sensors) are typically mounted out of the way (on walls or ceilings), and they do not introduce contaminants.
How is our data handled? Is the system secure?
Data security and control are top priorities. WISER’s location data can be hosted entirely on-premises on your own servers, which means you retain full control over sensitive information – it does not have to go to any cloud unless you want it to. The communication between tags, anchors, and the server is encrypted and runs on a dedicated UWB network, separate from your Wi-Fi or corporate LAN, greatly reducing cybersecurity risks.
Will WISER’s RTLS integrate with our existing ERP/MES or quality systems?
Yes. The WISER platform provides multiple integration options to ensure it complements your existing software ecosystem. We offer a robust REST API, Server-Sent Events (SSE), and even direct database access for streaming location data.
How accurate and scalable is the system in a facility full of metal and equipment?
WISER’s UWB technology is built for industrial environments and maintains high accuracy even around metal and dense equipment. Typical performance is 30 cm or better. The system is easily expandable, and new facility areas and additional tags can be added at any time. WISER can track tens of thousands of tags simultaneously without compromising data integrity or system performance.
What maintenance do the tracking tags and system require (battery life, etc.)?
Maintenance is minimal. The tracker tags run on batteries that often last years – our newest generation tags have up to a 5–10 year battery life under typical update rates. This long life is achieved via low-power UWB transmissions and smart power management. When a battery eventually runs low, the system can alert you, and the coin-cell batteries are easy to replace (or tags can be swapped out).
